The Latin American & Caribbean Institute for the Formation of Human Rights, is being planned, as a dependent of PDHRE LA, to deliver distinct human rights educational activities and workshops. The Institute's objective will be to help train individuals to be capable of planing specific human rights educational activities - with the hope that "participants" will thereafter be able to carry out such activities in their respective communities.

Objectives include the following:

This project fits into the global strategy of PDHRE International which stimulates the creation of Human Rights Cities. Activities on local and regional levels would be intimately connected and operate using shared resources and offering projects in a joint fashion.

Although part of the experience would be situated locally, in and around Rosario (a Human Rights City), the project would attempt to express, at least in part, the regional realities and problems of Latin America and the Caribbean and at the same time to present these "local" experiences to other countries. This is not a pilot project in a strict sense; projects will not be replicated identically in different environments. However, the Institute will try to identify the biggest obstacles and the best methods towards constructing human rights communities locally and within Latin America and the Caribbean.
